Hysteroscopy is a procedure whereby a thin lighted tube is inserted inside of uterine cavity through the cervix (mouth of the uterus ) & diagnostic/operative procedures are performed.

Whereby a surgeon can visulize the uterine cavity, sees Billateral tubal ostia (tubal opening) and also visualizes this internal os. Your doctor could diagnose presence of a uterine malformations(septae) presence of polyps / fibroids of endometrium.
Operative Hysteroscopy
Operative hysteroscopy is an endoscopic surgery whereby corrective procedures are carried out to remove presence of uterine abnormalities.
a. Hysteroscopic polypectomy is a procedure whereby uterine polys are removed using a loop resectoscope.
b. Hysteroscopic septum resection is done in patients whereby the cavity is separated partially / completely by the presence of uterine septum which can be removed by hysteroscopic surgeon using collins knife.
c. The usual symptoms of a uterine septum include infertlity or recurrent abortions. Hysteroscopic tubal cannulation is a brilliant technique to open blocked tubes, at the cornual ends, using a side channel hysteroscopic sheath.
